Definition:
Used to indicate an individual object or group of objects.
Example:
A, an, and the
Nouns:  
Definition:
A person, place, thing or idea.
Example:
University, book, or girl
Adjectives:  
Definition:
Modifies a noun.
Example:
Fast, slow, pretty, ugly, or tall
Verbs:  
Definition:
Action words that talk about something being done.
Example:
To ski, swim, jog, or climb
Adverbs:  
Definition:
Modifies the verb, telling how it is done.
Example:
Quickly, poorly, or well
Conjunctions:  
Definition:
Used to join words, clauses, sentences or phrases.
Example:
and, or
Prepositions:  
Definition:
Words of time or place.
Example:
In, through, or by
Interjections:  
Definition:
Used to show surprise, protest or commands.
Example:
Oh!, Ah! or wow!
